Who remembers this great family game? My family plays it quite often.... and I laugh at the irony of this game. It is called SORRY but you are NEVER sorry when you "sorry" your oponent! LOL. You...
are very excited when you get to send the other players back to the
start and you take their position! And then... you can't wait to do it
again!!!! It makes me think of how many times we say sorry. If you are
like me.. sorry is a main staple in your vocabulary. I mess up alot.
But I am human.. NOT perfect! But how many times do we say sorry to God
for the things we have done... but then just do it again. Sorry I lied
today God.... sorry I yelled at my spouse... sorry I drank too
much..... sorry I ignored my kids today and though of myself
first...sorry I was lazy.. sorry I looked at that inappropriate web
site.. etc etc. then the next day comes and we do it all over! What
must we do to change this pattern. At some point sorry just becomes an
empty word. BUT....Praise God for His mercy.... for His mercy is new
every morning!!!! He continues to reach down to us and forgives us for
every failure so long as we come to Him asking for forgiveness. But..
here is the"catch" .. to really overcome this pattern we have to desire
to be more Christ-like. We must realize our sin and lay it at His
feet. We can not stop bad patterns of behavior without His help! We
can not do anything within' our own strength. HOWEVER..... we can do
ALL things through Christ Who give us strength!. So, next time you need
to say sorry... say it and MEAN it, remember you are forgiven so you do
not have to be bound by those chains that entangle you!
