Photo Challenge 7 - Now That You Are Grown Up

Psalms 139:13

"You created me in my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb, 

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

Today my critter-loving son caught a two-tailed Gecko. How cool is that!!!! I love the critters just as much as he does so I was eager to hold it and check it out. Not sure exactly what happened to this guy but I would suspect he lost his tail at some point and or a piece of his tail and a new one started developing... along with a second!! It got me

thinking again... how sometime we feel like we don't "fit in". We are different, not like the others. That can sometimes hurt because we all want that feeling of acceptance, right. But God makes each on of us unique... and I am SO glad for that! if we all looked the same or acted the same what a boring world! But I also feel sad when people think because they are made different, they are not good enough! Well, in the book of Psalms Chapter 139, verse 13, the word says, "You created me in my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." That right there tells me that God created me to be something special... not like anyone else. He made me UNIQUE! Just like He made all of us unique. But I also ponder the negative side of this.... what God made us to be versus what we are becoming. Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the patters of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind". This tells me that I don't HAVE to look like the world. I don't need the latest fashion, or the coolest hair style or the most recent iPhone or the biggest house or be a size 2 or or or or etc. I need to be what God made me to be and if that doesn't appeal to the world... then so be it. Be confident in who you are!!!! Don't be ashamed of how God made you! God DOES NOT make mistakes!!! So with that in mind I finish with this thought, .....everyone asks, what do you want to be when you grow up, I ask, now that you are grown up, what are you becoming?

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you for having made each of us unique and special. Help us to stop trying to be like someone eles. Help us to begin to more and more, simply to be who you designed us to be. I pray for confidence to push past the fear of feeling you need to live up to the expectations of everyone else. Help us to learn to love our selves like you love us. That we would come to a place of peace and joy about being an expression of your wonder and creativity in this earth. Thank you Lord for how you have made us.
