A Devotional by Margot Cioccio
Psalm 46:4-5
There is a river
whose streams make glad
the city of God,
the holy place where
the Most High dwells.
God is within her,
she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
It is Monday and I am very late on getting started. I'm just a little tired from getting the River project finished and ready for use on Sunday. I thought you might enjoy seeing some of the photos that I took of the first folks to explore the River. The comments from everyone regarding it were very positive and people seemed to be genuinely experiencing God in a moving way. Some lit candles, some drew patterns in the sand, or held on to the stones praying about the topic written on them. Some looked up the promise verses they found written on the little glass gems. Some reflected and were moved by the beauty of the project. I remember just watching as people interacted with the project and were moved by the Lord's presence with in it. There was a point where I felt the Lord's presence in an overwhelming way. It was a feeling of gratitude that he would use me to create something that would help people to connect with Him in worship and prayer. I am always humbled that he would take us in all our brokenness and find ways to include us in what He is doing.
It is quite a humbling kind of feeling to know that you have been part of creating something that will now take on a life of its own as God uses it to move in and through peoples lives as they experience Him. If you are in the Spokane area and would like to visit. The River project is located at First Covenant Church on 2nd and Division. Our service is at 10:30 Sunday morning. We are also having two service on Good Friday during which you could experience the River Project.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray that the photos today will make up for my lack of words. That those who are reading would be inspired by the photos and moved in some way closer to you. That they would uncover some treasure in your word that speaks to their need and helps them as they journey through this day.
